Role Purpose
- To promote and deliver quality teaching and effective learning of English and IELTS,
- To contribute to and provide leadership in the development, evaluation and improvement of curriculum content and related services at partner schools,
- To support and offer guidance to fellow instructors in the delivery of English programmes through training, line management, performance management and other developmental activities,
- To support the wider aims of the British Council and its cultural relations mission.
Main accountabilities but not limited to the following
- Contribute as a member of the academic team to the development, evaluation, and improvement of IELTS courses. This will be under the direction of the detector of DEOC and may include writing, editing or reviewing teaching materials, assessment tools, administrative systems and related services.
- Plan, prepare and deliver up to 20 hours of high-quality English language teaching per week while being ready to provide cover for fellow instructors as required.
- Monitor learner progress and provide regular oral and written feedback throughout the courses to help manage learner performance and actively promote learner autonomy.
- Complete teaching-related administrative tasks to specified standards; attend parent-teacher meetings to provide informed, learner-specific feedback as appropriate; and participate in IE&Co events when required.
- Support teacher development and performance management. Deliver training sessions in areas of expertise, and act as a formal lesson observer.
- Line manage up to three instructors to the required standards, advising them on their learning and development, mentoring them on classroom practice, and encouraging their participation in peer observations and collaborative lesson planning as appropriate.
- Actively engage in professional development and performance management to ensure quality and high standards in teaching and learning and maintain IE&Co’s position at the forefront of best ELT practice in Vietnam.
- Support local marketing and promotional strategy and assist the CS team in delivering excellent customer service.
- Play an active role within the DEOC team, performing any other reasonable academic management duties and supporting the CS team when requested.
- Conduct having completed related mandatory training, as with organisational policies, guidelines and training.

Certification and professional qualifications
Essential
- A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from ULIS, HANU, HNUE
- At least two years post-certification experience, with at least 1200 hours of experience teaching IELTS, YLs and/or VYLs
- Excellent command of the English language (IELTS 7.5 and above)
Desirable
- Relevant Master’s Degree or EdD
- Certificate or diploma in Academic Management
- Additional desirable experience includes:
- Writing/ delivering teacher training; Materials and/ or syllabus development; Line management of teachers

Successful candidate will work a 5-and-a-half-day week, 44 hours excluding lunch break, daily shifts from 7:45-11:45; 13:30-17:30; and 17:30-21:30
